  • For 64-bit device: Enter “wget http://javadl.sun.com/webapps/downlo…undleId=106240 -Ojre.tar.gz” and tap Enter.

Step13:

To extract the Java 8 file that is downloaded, Enter “tar zxvf jre.tar.gz” and tap the Enter button.

Step14:

Enter “mv jre1.8* /bin” and click Enter button.

Step15:

Enter “cd/bin” and click the Enter button to open the executable folder on your Chromebook.

Step16: 

Enter “1n -s/bin/jre1.8.0_45/bin/java/bin/java” and tap Enter button.

You should replace the number “45” with the number of the Java version on the Java website.

Step17:

Enter java-version in the shell as the name of the version of Java that is installed newly.

How to enable Javascript on Chromebook?

Step1:

Navigate to and click your Profile picture on your Chromebook.
